I had a lovely stay in a beautiful location with superb food and a refreshing pool. The room was comfortable, but the dining experience had its hiccups with breakfast and the service during meals left a bit to be desired. Overall, worth a visit, but there’s room for improvement in the service and breakfast areas.

Rooms
8.0
The room was beautiful and really comfortable, though it did feel a bit tense with the surrounding noise from the other areas.
Service
6.0
The restaurant staff seemed rushed and not particularly attentive, which detracted from the experience. A more experienced management presence would definitely help.
Location
9.0
The hotel is situated in a lovely area, perfect for exploring with charming surroundings that enhance the overall experience.
Dining
5.0
While dinner was exceptional, breakfast was a letdown. The cold selection was nice, but the hot options weren't worth the extra cost.
Facilities
8.0
The pool was refreshing and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring.

5.0/10

I had high hopes for this hotel given its connection to Chewton Glen, but my experience was frustrating. The warm and friendly staff were let down by some serious issues, particularly with breakfast and the room conditions. While I loved the dinner at the Grill, my overall experience was overshadowed by the mistakes and lackluster amenities.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms felt hot and stuffy, with uncomfortable beds and closed windows adding to a musty smell.
Service
5.0
The staff were polite and tried to be helpful, but their inexperience showed when it came to handling mistakes like losing our car keys.

Dinner at the Grill was great, but breakfast was a disaster with poor quality food and limited options.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel has beautiful decor, the overall facilities did not meet the standards one would expect from such an expensive hotel.

The hotel has a charming historical atmosphere and is located in the picturesque town of Broadway, making it an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds. The ambiance is delightful, with well-maintained surroundings and cozy rooms. However, issues with service and false advertising about spa facilities marred the overall experience. For a romantic getaway, the focus should be more on creating a serene environment rather than upselling additional services.

Rooms
8.0
Our room was beautifully designed, steeped in history, and very comfortable. However, it didn’t have a dressing table, and the curtains were often left open, letting in cold drafts.
Service
6.0
While most staff were friendly and accommodating, there were moments where the service felt impersonal and the upselling was overbearing, which detracted from the experience.
Location
10.0
The hotel is situated in the heart of Broadway, which is arguably the prettiest town in the Cotswolds, surrounded by charming shops and restaurants.
Dining
7.0
The dining options were decent, but I found the prices for basic items to be quite high, especially considering the availability of similar options elsewhere for less.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were nice but could use better management, particularly regarding the spa, which felt small and overcrowded during our visit.

I had a wonderful stay at The Lygon Arms, which is nestled in the charming town of Broadway. The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely seating area that added to the charm. While the food was just okay and a bit pricey, the overall atmosphere and character of the hotel were delightful. However, the breakfast experience was chaotic and could use some improvement.

Rooms
8.0
Our room was spacious and clean, featuring a lovely sofa and sitting area that made it very comfortable, but it might benefit from some soundproofing as the creaking floors from above were quite disruptive.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, though the breakfast service was quite slow and chaotic, as if they weren't fully in control of the situation.
Location
10.0
The hotel is situated in the heart of what I believe is the prettiest town in the Cotswolds, providing a great backdrop for our stay.
Dining
6.0
Dinner was enjoyable, although the quality of the food didn't quite meet my expectations, with the steak being a bit tough, and my fish and chips lacking in fish. The breakfast could have been better organized and had more options.
Facilities
7.0
The architectural beauty of the hotel and its lounge areas is stunning, but the spa facilities felt inadequate with not enough loungers available for guests.
